While there are various ways in which it can come together and multiple types of mediation processes to select from, the concept of mediation is for a neutral, third party facilitator who has no interest in the outcome of a dispute to chair a meeting with those directly involved in a conflict for the purpose of trying to resolve the matter.

The meeting is "off the record" - it is confidential and without prejudice in nature - to allow for a safe environment to explore.

The mediator imposes no decisions on the parties, settlement is only reached if all involved in a dispute are agreeable.  However, the value of involving an experienced mediator like Marc when addressing a dispute is that the mediator can apply a variety of skills, experience and process expertise to help you make the most out of your mediation opportunity.
